Wuxi to hold World IoT Expo 2021 in September

The organizing committee of the World Internet of Things (IoT) Expo 2021 held a press conference a few days ago, announcing that the Expo will be held in Wuxi from September 3 to 6.

During this expo, one summit, one exhibition for IoT applications and products, one launching ceremony of new IoT technologies, products and applications, 10 summit forums, and 16 themed activities will be staged. The International Telecommunication Union (ITU), International Association for Pattern Recognition (IAPR), China Center for Information Industry Development (CCID), China Academy of Information and Communications Technology (CAICT), China Academy of Industrial Internet (CAII), China Computer Federation (CCF), Chinese Institute of Electronics (CIE), China Big Data and Intelligent Computing Industry Alliance and other institutions, as well as well-known enterprises such as China Aerospace Science and Industry Corporation Limited (CASIC), China Electronics Technology Group Corporation (CETC), China Telecom, China Mobile, China Unicom, China Broadcasting Network, Huawei, ZTE, Inspur, Haier, and Envision will participate in the Expo and exhibitions.

Compared with previous sessions, this Expo will attach greater importance to digitization, experience and industrialization. Among them, the four-day exhibition of IoT applications and products will be the highlight, covering an area of 50,000 square meters. It will showcase the latest achievements in IoT technologies and applications, such as 5G, Industrial Internet, smart city, Internet of Vehicles, smart education, and virtual reality. In addition to offline exhibitions, there will be a cloud exhibition platform that is accessible 24/7 for visitors in the form of digital twinning using 3D 720° panoramic rendering and other technologies.

As a front-runner of China’s IoT development, Jiangsu boasts a solid foundation of IoT industrial clustering. In 2020, its revenue generated by the IoT industry exceeded RMB 650 billion. Since its inception in Wuxi in 2016, the Expo has been successfully held for five consecutive years. Over 1.1 million participants from more than 50 countries and regions participated in this Expo. Nearly 800 major projects have been launched, bringing an investment of over RMB 200 million in the IoT field. The Expo has become the most well-known and influential professional event in the field of global IoT.
