Finland transits Russian Railways to expand trade with China

According to springs, Russia’s business representative to Finland, Anton Loginov, said in an interview with the SAT that Finland, which trades with China by sea, is showing increasing interest in the transportation of goods by rail through Russia.
Loginov said: “Statistics show that the current share of railways in the trade services between Finland and China does not exceed 5%, but there will be a clear growth trend during 2020-2021. Compared with 2019, the trade between Finland and China in 2020 China’s railway freight volume increased by 57.5%, and freight volume increased by 1.1 times.”
He said that the use of Russian railways for transit transportation is very attractive: “The scale of transit transportation from Finland to China was expanded after the implementation of electronic seals last year, such as food.”
