The 2021 World Industrial and Energy Internet Expo and International Industrial Equipment Exhibition kicked off in Changzhou on the 18th of June, which saw the unveiling of Changzhou Highspeed Rail New Town Energy Internet Demonstration Zone, the launch of Changzhou Smart Energy Management Platform, release of the Eastern China Data Nodes of CASI-Cloud INDICS and official initiation of the Industrial Internet Talent Valley.
Under the guidance of Jiangsu Provincial People’s Government, China Aerospace Science and Industry Corporation Limited, and State Grid Corporation of China, the event was jointly hosted by Changzhou Municipal People’s Government, Jiangsu Provincial Department of Industry and Information Technology, Jiangsu Energy Bureau, China Academy of Information and Communications Technology, Nanjing Branch of Chinese Academy of Sciences, Jiangsu Industrial Technology Research Institute, Xinhua Newspaper Media Group, CASI-Cloud, State Grid Jiangsu Electric Power Co., Ltd., and Huawei Technology Co., Ltd. It was themed with “A New Journey of Industrial Development with New Platforms of Low-carbon Smart Manufacturing” and witnessed the on-site signing of 20 key projects registering a total investment of nearly RMB 30 billion and relating to multiple fields including high-end equipment manufacturing, power batteries, 5G communications, photovoltaic new energy and industrial internet. More than 500 elites from across the globe gathered in the city of Changzhou and shared cutting-edge views and experience over such hot topics as the carbon peak and carbon neutrality strategies, industrial internet, energy internet, intelligent manufacturing and big date, as part of the move to inject new impetus into the low-carbon manufacturing industrial development.
“The energy sector has emerged as an important area driving the growth of industrial internet. Industrial internet and energy internet have achieved aligned and inter-connected development, thus seeing commercialization in thermal power, wind power, nuclear power, petrochemical industry, photovoltaic industry and other industries. That contributed to across-the-board improvement in each link, be it the energy equipment, the systems, stations, enterprises, regions or users, enhanced quality and efficiency, and promoted the low-carbon green development”, said Han Xia, Chief Engineer of Ministry of Industry and Information Technology, in his remarks.
In the keynote speech session of the main summit, guest speakers such as Liu Zhenya, Chairperson of Global Energy Interconnection Development and Cooperation Organization, Li Peigen, Academician of Chinese Academy of Engineering, and Shan Zhongde, Academician of Chinese Academy of Engineering, were engaged in discussions over topics like industrial internet, carbon neutrality and energy internet. Adding to the excitement of in-person sharing was the on-line global session where experts like Daniel Zajfman, former President of the Israeli Weizmann Institute of Science, gave word via video links. Two renowned businessmen, namely, Xu Wenwei, President of Strategic Research Institute of Huawei Technology Corporation, and Gao Jifan, Honorary President of China Photovoltaic Industry Association, Co-Chair of Global Solar Energy Council and Board Chairman of Trina Solar Corporation, shared expertise on corporate innovation. The roundtable dialogue was joined by six entrepreneurs who shared views on industrial internet identification analysis and application. Event organizers also took opportunity of this occasion to grant awards to the top 10 enterprises in Changzhou in terms of R&D input in 2020.
