On April 23, the 2nd Conference on the Development of Self-driving Tour Industry in the Yangtze River Delta and the opening ceremony of 2021 China Grand Canal Cultural Tour were held in Zhenjiang. Vice Governor Ma Xin addressed the conference.
The three provinces and one city within the Yangtze River Delta, adjacent to each other, enjoy cultural, economic, and people-to-people connectivity. The Yangtze River Delta, as a whole, is a big source of and a popular destination for domestic and international visitors, whose number of regional tourists accounted for 60% of the national total in 2020. At the opening ceremony, Zhang Rungang, Vice President and Secretary-General of China Tourism Association, and Zhang Weiguo, President of Jiangsu Tourism Association, on behalf of the organizers, presented awards to Jurong City in Jiangsu Province, Lujiang County in Anhui Province, Jiande City in Zhejiang Province, and Guangming Tianyuan in Shanghai, places that have been singled out as “Demonstration Destination for Self-driving Tours in the Yangtze River Delta”.
Several recommendation lists were released, including the list of revolutionary history-oriented boutique routes for self-driving tours in the Yangtze River Delta, the list of recommended homestays, of dining places, and of car service companies for self-driving tours in the Yangtze River Delta. Representatives of self-driving tour clubs from provinces and cities in the Yangtze River Delta and along the Grand Canal signed agreement on the exchange of visitors.
